Happy Tuesday, you guys! I am so excited to share some more travel content with all of you! We just got back from our Summer vacay to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, this past Saturday.
Hilton Head Island was SO gorgeous, and I definitely got Nicholas Sparks vibes the whole time I was there. 😉 That actually turned into an inside joke, because I kept saying how “Nicholas Sparks” everything looked! Hehe. The droopy trees along all of the roads and the beautiful water were what caught my attention the most when it came to that!
Ashton, Lana, and I stayed at The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa while we were there, along with my Dad and StepMom! It was a beautiful resort with lots of lovely Instagram spots! 😉
The resort was also very child friendly, so don’t worry about that if you want to visit with children! 🙂 For any of you who may want to travel there, I will go ahead and quickly describe what we did each day! Everything that we did was less than 30 minutes away, and we had a rental car to get to each location.
We all stayed at a hotel in Kansas City the night before our early Monday morning flight! Then we got to the resort Monday afternoon, and we were all pretty exhausted. So we just got some food/drinks (delicious), and we checked out the resort pool (so nice) and the ocean! We just rested that night before getting some sleep for the next day!
I would call this part of our vacay “Resort Day”, because we just spent the whole day exploring the resort and truly taking in the beauty of the ocean and had a blast in the pool! Lana jumped into the pool about 10,000 times! I have no idea where she got the energy! She also loved playing in the ocean by jumping with me every time a wave would come. 🙂
That night we went to our favorite place to eat the entire trip, and it’s less than 15 minutes away from the resort! Ashton got the recommendation from someone at the resort, and I’m so glad that we took the advice! We ate at the Skull Creek Dockside Waterfront Restaurant. If you want to eat somewhere with a gorgeous view of the water and in an absolutely charming environment, this is it.
We ate on the deck in the shade, and there was a perfect breeze (they also have fans on the deck). The food and drinks were delicious, and Lana got her own gigantic shark cup to take home. 🙂 Oh, and make sure to try their coconut margaritas! 😉
I would call this our “Activity Day”. We had so much fun! We woke up bright and early, and my Dad and StepMom watched Lana while Ashton and I rode jet skis on the ocean! It was definitely an amazing experience! We did everything this day at H20 Sports in Harbour Town. They give you A LOT of freedom, and you just have to stay within a certain (very large) area. The waves made it pretty interesting! 😉 We even saw some dolphins in the water!
We rode jet skis for about an hour, and then we all went kayaking together on the ocean! Lana was an absolute champ! She got her own smaller paddle, and she was able to participate in the activity that way with all of us! I still can’t believe how well she did, because it takes a lot of energy (especially in the sun). She did end up falling asleep for a bit right after. 🙂 Our tour guide was extremely kind and even took pictures for us in front of a lighthouse there when we were done.
This was the recovery day of our vacay for sure! We were so exhausted after the activities the day before and after getting so much sun! So we ended up going to the most darling little place for lunch before doing some mini golfing! We ate at Jane Bistro & Bar. I had their “Shrimp Mexi Cali” and a delicious blackberry cocktail!
If you are looking for some more family activities, we found a really fun mini golf place in a beautiful environment! It was very shaded with lots of pretty trees and water all around you! I thought it was really neat that you win a special prize at the end for each hole in one you got! Make sure to try their Pina Colada slushie before you go! 🙂
This was our last day at the resort, so we spent the day enjoying the beach and the resort pool one last time. 🙂 A really nice man also let Lana fly a kite for the first time, and it was so much fun watching her enjoy it!
To end our Summer vacay, we went on a sunset cruise on Friday night! It was the most beautiful sunset I’ve ever seen! It was definitely the perfect way to end the trip! 🙂
You should all definitely take a vacay to Hilton Head Island when you get a chance! It was a beautiful, family trip for us! 🙂
If you want to shop everything that I took on our vacay, you can also see it all in my previous blog post here!
Talk to you all soon!
